The Christmas Recital is Coming!

I'm pleased to announce that our Christmas recital will be on December 10th, 2009 and 7:00pm. This year we will be holding the recital at Oakside Baptist Church in the main auditorium. Please bring 1 dozen cookies to share for after the recital. Wear something nice--no blue jeans!

If you've already chosen your recital songs, keep working on them! If you haven't, we'll be making that decision in the next few weeks. Recitals are an exciting time to share what you've learned in front of an audience of family and friends. I'm looking forward to it!

Welcome to Piano Lessons!

Six new students have started taking lessons in the month of October and I would like to extend a special welcome to Dalton, age 12, James, 9, Will, 7, Emma, 7, Natalie, 6, and Samantha, 6. I'm looking forward to getting to know you better as you begin making music.

This fall I'm offering a piano special! Recommend a friend, and if they start lessons in September or October you'll receive one month of lessons half off, and your friend will receive one free lesson. Offer expires October 31, 2009.

First Summer Challenge Winners

Two students have already completed their Summer Challenge! Laurel, age 8, finished her challenge on August 4th. She chose a gift card to Wal-Mart for her prize. The next day, Paisley, age 10 finished her challenge. She chose a gift card to Scoops for her prize. Both of them have improved greatly this summer and now have five songs that they can play from memory! Good job, girls!

Welcome Back!

I had a wonderful time in California! The wedding was beautiful, and it was great getting to see old friends and family again. Now that I'm back, it's time to get back to piano lessons! Lessons resume on Monday, June 22, Tuesday, June 23, and Wednesday, June 24. I'm looking forward to seeing you!

Summer Challenge

Welcome to the first "Summer Music Challenge!" I will be picking five challenging songs our of your piano books and you will have until the end of summer (August 3rd if you come on Monday, August 4th if you come on Tuesday) to memorize them. After you memorize them you will have one chance to play them for me perfectly--no mistakes! If you tackle that challenge you will win a $10 gift card to either Wal-Mart, Starbucks, or Scoops Ice Cream. On Thursday, August 6th there will be a "Pizza and Piano" party at my house for everyone who participated in the challenge. Everyone will get a chance to play some of their favorite challenge songs for the other students, then we'll celebrate with pizza!

Summer Schedule

There will be no lessons June 15 and 16. If you're going to be out of town sometime this summer, make sure you let me know in advance!
